You don't have to choose the nearest crematorium.

There are many crematoria across London and the surrounding areas. The right choice might depend on the chapel, the grounds, the length of the service, accessibility or the journey for the people attending.

We've brought together 27 crematoria and four ceremony venues, with photographs, locations and links to further information. Poetic Endings can arrange a funeral at any of these places, regardless of where you live or where the person has died. Ceremony venues are clearly identified: they offer a place for the funeral, while any cremation takes place at a crematorium. At GreenAcres parks, burial in the grounds is also possible.

If somewhere appeals to you, we recommend visiting before making your decision.

A little guidance

How to choose a crematorium

You are free to choose whichever crematorium suits the funeral. It doesn't have to be the nearest, or the one most often used in your neighbourhood. It can be worth comparing a few places before deciding.

Can I choose any crematorium in London?

Yes. You don't have to use the crematorium closest to your home or to where the person died. We can help you explore the options and make arrangements at crematoria across London and the surrounding areas.

Can I visit a crematorium before deciding?

Often, yes. Many crematoria can arrange visits to the chapel and grounds. We recommend checking with the venue in advance so you can see the space without interrupting a funeral.

How long does a crematorium funeral last?

Service times vary. Some crematoria offer a shorter early-morning service; others allow extra time to be booked. The total booking also needs to allow for entering and leaving the chapel, so it's worth checking the time actually available for the ceremony.

Will every crematorium charge the same fee?

No. Crematorium charges depend on the venue, time and service requested. We can explain the separate crematorium fee and our funeral director's fees, and provide a clear written estimate before you decide.
