Music, Webcasts & visual tributes, by obitus

The team at Obitus look after the music, multimedia and livestreaming at most crematoria and cemeteries across London.

MUSIC

Music is an essential part of a funeral service. That’s why the team at Obitus go above and beyond to help you find and play the music that means the most.

How it works

  • Choose the music you’d like to be played during the service, and let your funeral director or celebrant know. We recommend choosing at least three tracks (entrance, reflection/committal, and exit) but you can have as much (or as little) music as you’d like, providing it fits into the allocated service time.

  • You can visit Obitus’ directories of Music and Hymns to explore what’s already available on their system, and listen to previews. Password is melody

  • Your funeral director or celebrant will request the music on the Obitus system.

  • If your chosen music isn’t already available in the library, the team of music specialists at Obitus will do all they can to find it for you and ensure it’s uploaded to the system ready for the funeral.

Livestream

For whatever reason, not everyone will be able to make the funeral service, but they can still join you in saying goodbye. Obitus’ Live & On Demand service allows friends and family to watch the funeral as it happens, or at any time during the following 28 days.

How it works

  • You’ll be provided with a unique login to the Obitus website to share with family and friends. The login details can be shared on your online announcement or directly with family and friends.

  • Up to 150 people can watch the livestream. All they need is a phone, laptop or tablet, and a stable internet connection.

  • If you think more than 150 people will watch the webcast, please let us know. An additional charge may apply.

  • You can see the catafalque, lectern, the front row of mourners and the screens on the camera.

  • The recording will be available for 28 days after the funeral to watch again. It’s usually ready two working days after the funeral.

  • A downloadable version of the recording will be sent to you, for no extra charge, as a keepsake.
