Rosalie's approach
Rosalie takes time to listen, hear the stories and understand what you would like the funeral to be.
She can help you put together a ceremony with readings, music and personal contributions. Or she can suggest something different: a shared activity, a simple gesture, or a way of bringing everyone into the ceremony. Sometimes the most memorable element is something quite small.
There is room for tradition in her work, too. The starting point is always the person who has died, and what matters to the people arranging the funeral.
Experience and interests
Rosalie has been a celebrant since 2015. Alongside conducting funerals, she teaches other celebrants and speaks about the possibilities of ceremony and ritual.
Rosalie enjoys finding ways for people to take part. Her previous ceremonies have included art installations, making music together and movement-based rituals. There's no expectation to do anything unusual; these are possibilities, not a template.
She has led ceremonies in crematoria and traditional settings, as well as theatres, cinemas, art galleries, parks and gardens. The venue can be as personal as the ceremony itself.
Originally from the Netherlands, Rosalie is fluent in Dutch and English and also leads bilingual ceremonies incorporating German and French. She understands how important language and cultural traditions can be.

Not every funeral needs to follow the same format. Rosalie has worked with people to bring art, shared music and other forms of participation into a ceremony.
For some people, this might mean doing something together rather than simply listening. For others, the right choice is a familiar service led with warmth and a great deal of care. Rosalie is comfortable with both.

Rosalie's interest in ceremony began with a fascination for the big questions in life. She studied theology and philosophy and trained as a minister and chaplain before spending time working in organisational change management.
She trained as a celebrant in 2015, bringing those different experiences together. Today, she also works as a celebrant trainer and speaker, exploring how ceremonies can help people mark significant changes in their lives.
Rosalie was born in the Netherlands and now lives in London. Outside her work she enjoys art, music, vintage finds and walks in the woods.
