IN LOVING MEMORY OF

ERNEST RODKER

12th May 1937 – 16th April 2025

Ernest died at The Meadowcraft Care Home in Tooting on Wednesday 16th April 2025.

We have been very moved by the outpouring of love and support over the last few weeks.

On Monday 19th May 2025 between 3pm and 8pm we will be bringing Ernest back to his home at 28 Wandle Road in a plain, bespoke wooden coffin made of recycled wood. This will be a chance for people to sit with Ernest, to say goodbye, to leave messages on the coffin or whatever you choose. This will be an informal time without a ceremony and people can stay for as long or little as they want. There will be some light food and drinks available.

There will be a short committal service for a few people at Mortlake Crematorium on Tuesday 20th May 2025 at 12.40. This means the coffin will not be present at the following service at Pembroke Lodge. Please email Joel separately if you would like to attend the cremation.

Following the committal, we’ll gather at Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park (TW10 5HX), for a Celebration of Life service which will start at 2pm. You can arrive from 1.30pm and there is a public café in the building. The service will be roughly 60-90 minutes but the room is booked until 6pm and there will be a chance after the service to mingle and share memories over food and drink. There is plenty of public parking available at Pembroke Lodge (please ask or see map for disabled access). DRESS CODE
There is no dress code, please dress informally.

DONATIONS and TRIBUTES
We have set up a MuchLoved tribute page where you can leave messages, memories and photos as well as donate to causes that were important to Ernest. If you have emailed already with a message you are welcome to copy and post to the MuchLoved page.

NO FLOWERS, DONATIONS INSTEAD
Ernest loved flowers but there is no need to buy flowers to bring to the service. We will have some flowers from a florist. We will also have a couple of small buckets with water if you’d like to bring an offering from your garden to contribute. Any donations in Ernest’s memory can be made to the  charities on the MuchLoved website.

LIVESTREAM and RECORDING
We know that some people won’t be able to attend so we intend to organise a live stream and recording of the service. The link for this will be shared with everyone on this list nearer the time. Please indicate below if you want to access this.
