Dear Friends,

As you may already know, David died peacefully in his sleep at Rectory Court Retirement Home in Blackheath, London, on Wednesday 1st October 2025.

His funeral will take place at The Fitzrovia Chapel, 2 Pearson Square, Fitzroy Place, London W1T 3 BF on Friday 24th October 2025 at 10:00am.

The chapel is tucked inside a residential square and surrounded by modern residential and office buildings. Entrances to Pearson Square are on Mortimer Street, Cleveland Street and Riding House Street. The nearest tube stations are Goodge Street, Oxford Circus, Warren Street and Tottenham Court Road (Dean Street exit) for the Elizabeth line.

Wake
After the funeral, we would love you to join us nearby to share our memories of David at the Blue Posts (Fitzrovia), 81 Newman Street W1T 3ET, on the corner of Eastcastle Street.

We have received many lovely messages. Please accept our sincere thanks for all your thoughts and kind words about David. We have been very much comforted by the heartwarming notes and support we have received.

Donations
David was very taken with the young blind and neurodivergent winner of The Piano in 2023, Lucy. The Amber Trust provides musical opportunities for blind and partially sighted children, and children with more complex needs.
