Funerals in fitzrovia chapel
a stunning jewel of Byzantine-inspired architecture HIDDEN IN CENTRAL LONDON
The Fitzrovia Chapel is an enchanting jewel of Byzantine inspired architecture located in the heart of the Fitzrovia community. As the former chapel of the Middlesex Hospital, it is a place of meaning, memory and sanctuary for many. Today the chapel is an enriching cultural space for creative health and wellbeing.
A registered charity without public subsidy, the chapel’s charitable activities and preservation of the building are mostly funded through commercial hire. This includes weddings, exhibitions, book launches and shoots. The Fitzrovia Chapel is open to everyone of all faiths, beliefs, backgrounds and cultures.
The King chose the chapel as the location for his Christmas Broadcast in December 2024.
It is a significant and stunning place to hold a funeral service for up to 78 attendees.
HOW IT WORKS
We will liaise with the events team at Fitzrovia Chapel to find a suitable date and time for the funeral to take place.
The funeral service will take place at Fitzrovia Chapel followed by a committal at crematorium, a cemetery or a natural burial ground. You can choose whether you’d like to attend the committal, or if you’d prefer to choose somewhere in Fitzrovia for the wake (separate to the funeral service arrangements). The committal can also take place on a separate day.
