Christopher took his final breath at Kings College Hospital on Friday 19th June 2026, where he was beautifully cared for by the medics and palliative team. He scored Genius on the New York Times Spelling Bee two days earlier.

Funeral
Christopher’s funeral will take place at St Stephen's Chapel, West Norwood Cemetery, SE27 9JU, on Thursday 30th July 2026 at 1:00 PM. The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend (details below).

Wake
After the funeral, and from 2:45 PM onwards, we’ll gather in the library and grounds of Dulwich Mead, 48-50 Half Moon Lane, SE24 9HS, to share our memories of Christopher over a hearty late lunch and drinks.

Dress Code
Smart casual - we are celebrating and giving thanks for a life which was full of different colours! Please come in bright or dark colours, as you feel comfortable. Please consider the weather too and bring water and hand-held fans if it is a hot day.

Transport to St Stephen’s Chapel
Here are some helpful tips on travelling to West Norwood Cemetery. Once inside the cemetery grounds, please refer to the cemetery map to find St Stephen’s Chapel. It is in the Hellenic Enclosure which is about a 10 minute walk away. The Visitor Centre, by the cemetery gates, will be open if you are early or would like to refill your water bottles. Christopher’s funeral service is not taking place at the crematorium chapel.

Transport to Dulwich Mead
By car - it is a simple 15 minute drive with parking available at Dulwich Mead or in nearby streets. Please refer to any local parking restrictions.
By bus - please take the 468 or 68 from Knights Hill (stop W) to Herne Hill (stop B). Dulwich Mead is a short walk from there along Half Moon Lane.
