The Cremation at Honor Oak
The cremation takes place at Honor Oak Crematorium in South East London, without a ceremony or mourners attending. We choose the date and time and arrange transport to the crematorium.

We collect the ashes from the crematorium, ready for you to collect from our funeral home. A simple container is included, or you can choose another urn at an additional cost.

The Cost of a Direct Cremation
Our price includes a simple coffin and the cremation fee at Honor Oak. We'll give you a written estimate, including any additional charges, before you make arrangements.
What's Included
- A meeting with one of our funeral directors, the arrangements and necessary paperwork.
- Collection of the person who has died from a hospital or coroner's facilities within the M25.
- Care at our funeral home in Forest Hill for up to 21 days, including dressing the person in their own clothes, if required.
- The opportunity to spend time with the person who has died, by appointment only.
- A simple coffin suitable for cremation, usually a jute coffin.
- Transport of the coffin to Honor Oak Crematorium and the cremation fee.
- A simple ashes container and our collection of the ashes from the crematorium, ready for you to collect from our funeral home.
- Our support, care and guidance throughout the arrangements.

Can we attend the cremation?
No. A direct cremation takes place without a ceremony or mourners attending, at a date and time we arrange. If being at the crematorium matters to you, we can talk through an attended funeral.
Can we visit before the cremation?
Yes. The opportunity to spend time with the person who has died at our funeral home is included, by appointment only. We can also dress them in their own clothes, if required.
Is the coffin included?
Yes. A simple coffin suitable for cremation is included, usually a jute coffin. The cremation fee at Honor Oak is also included.
What happens to the ashes?
We collect them from Honor Oak and arrange for you to collect them from our funeral home. A simple container is included. You can choose a different urn at an additional cost.
Can we have a memorial afterwards?
Yes. You can arrange a gathering at a time and place that feels right, or remember them privately. If you'd like us to help organise a separate memorial, we'll explain the additional costs.

Payment Arrangements
Payment is required in full before the cremation, and we accept bank transfers.
Funeral expenses may sometimes be paid directly from the estate, subject to the bank's requirements.

Complaints Procedure
If you have concerns about our service, please email funerals@poetic-endings.com.
We aim to acknowledge complaints within three working days and investigate within five working days where possible.
If a complaint isn't resolved, you can contact SAIF for information about its complaints procedure.
