Do you want to work with us?
We're looking for freelance funeral specialists to join our committed team of forward thinking funeral professionals.
You are the future of funerals
We couldn't find the kind of funeral service we believe needs to exist; so we created Poetic Endings. All the work we do is based on the belief that good funerals are extremely important and how we treat the living and the dead REALLY matters.
But we can't do this without YOU. You are the change the funeral profession needs.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for people who share our beliefs to work with us on a freelance basis as funeral specialists, arranging funerals of style and substance, relevance and meaning.
Freelance funeral specialists
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll be involved in all aspects of providing exceptional funeral services to bereaved people. You'll be responsible for putting together the funeral they want and need to say goodbye to someone who has died. You'll then be involved in doing whatever needs to happen to ensure the funeral goes as smoothly as planned, using our unique approach.
No experience within the funeral profession is required. This work is ideal if you're looking for flexible yet meaningful work to supplement your income - perhaps you're at home to look after your children or you work on a freelance basis in another industry. We'll provide full training (starting in June) and ensure you feel supported every step of the way.
If you're curious, reliable, enthusiastic and would like to work on a freelance basis for a company that's changing the face of funerals for the better, we'd love to hear from you.
- Emotional intelligence
- An understanding that the work we’re doing is ground-breaking and that we can not do it alone
- A desire to be involved in what can be difficult but profound and transformational work
- A flexible and supportive attitude
- Smart appearance
You’ll need to be willing to work on a freelance basis and ideally be able to provide your own transport within the Greater London area.
How does it work?
In June we'll begin our first ever funeral training programme. One night a week, we'll meet in West London to explore all aspects of the funeral profession. We'll cover all the basics including administration and logistics, but we'll also collaborate on developing our unique approach to arranging funerals. This isn't about just being taught; it's about sharing ideas and getting involved in developing a better way forward for the funeral profession.
We'll spend time in the mortuary looking after the people in our care, we'll go behind the scenes at the crematorium to find out what actually happens, and we'll meet the people who are enacting real change in the funeral profession.
We'll teach you everything we know about funerals whilst being part of a small but ambitious group of people who have many ideas to bring to the table.
How do I apply?
We value emotional intelligence, life experience, enthusiasm and personality over academic qualifications and work experience. We want to work alongside inspiring and inspired individuals who are enthusiastic about the work we're doing.
Please email your story, thoughts about funerals or whatever it is you have on your mind, to Louise Winter at email@example.com and she'll be in touch to arrange an informal chat over coffee.
